Official language
The official language is the language used at authorities and courts, both between the offices themselves and between the offices and the citizens.
Enacting laws, providing information to citizens, holding and recording court hearings, submitting pleadings and applications to courts and administrative authorities are all carried out in the official language.
The official language in Austria is German. In addition, the minority languages Croatian, Slovenian and Hungarian are official languages in some regions of Austria.
